This I'm doing, so far for IJA & IJAF. To many of their pics are shared between techs/prod types so, making it harder to see for instance; an upgraded div/brig vs. the current old tech version. Also this makes it less boring to looki at, and some of the pics are really bad quality, like the original Type1 (Ho-Ni) SPA slightly better version Type1 (Ho-Ni II). And that the fully tek'd Medium Tank pic is the same pic as the full tek Tank Destroyer, when the pic is actually of the partialy prototype SPA version that the US Army captured after Japan surrender.

Although most are ok, I have to do some editing work, to make to size good & b/w style. I havent yet found some way to get them on net yet. Mostly simple tinting and modding style of colours, contrast etc. But hopefully more realistic, even though having some probs deciding what tanks to use, and later in future, how to change viewable ingame name of each div and brig.

Done some cut and pastes for special tanks, mainly TD's, SPA & aircaft (ie, ones that werent produced, or partially protyped in WW2, or had bad HoI2 pics). Soem use originals modded, others are a make believe in a realistic way.
For instance, turbo nav is FW Condor nav (better version), with Nihhon 'suns' on wings and body, top level turbofighter is the flying me262 with suns on it. Spent a lot of timeadjusting lighting and positions and suff, so the modded bmp's look like they were original, at there original picture sizes/views. Where I find authentic pics, I will use, If not I will put some thing that resembles the idea/description of them.

I then found some tank pics which were similar to some pics on net after trawling the net for hours, trying to find pics of em.
Its really fething hard, like trying to find rocking horse gak, to get Japanese armour pics, especially good one suitable for making look good in HoI2.

Sometime I will USB them from my own PC to this net linked pc, and try to get em out for those that want something a little more 'oh look, that pics, the same as the previous tech/version

I can foresee the difficulties of finding IJA pictures on the web...especially when you try to find those armored or tank stuff while there isn't much resource about it (Infantry was the backbone of the Japanese Army...). But fortunately, it is very easy to find all kind of planes and ships commissioned by the IJA or the IJN...Of course there are still western websites, but I believe the Japanese know their stuff the most!I don't know if you can read Japanese, otherwise I will be happy to find some websites that will be very useful on your project.

True, of course, seen if their are few sites about with info (and a little Japanese problem of them trying to forget some of the history, however bad; no offence intended)

Erm...nope, sorry languages aren't my best skill, even if I try. Just an UK Ex-Pat attempting to survive in Finland.
Any help would be gladly recieved that it will(....whoops..., for my Himura-san/Ruorini Kenshin talk style there...)

JGPI / Japanese Gfx and Pic's Improvement, Is getting closer

I've progressed and got more model bmp pics ready for viewing and peoples down loading. Also I'm in the process of awaiting permission to use some of Kristof's et-al's SMEP model icons as well.

Only one problem, I might have to contact the moderators, to be allowed to upload/attach images and files, unless another method of viewing and uploading is found. Any suggestions? :p

:D  :D Just made Corporal
