First of all, thanks for the great game Triumph. As a newly minted father, I'm really enjoying my time in Planetfall after my spawn finally sleeps at night, and it helps me relax. A lifesaver!

The game could really do with clearer indication of who is winning though.

I've had a few games where either I suddenly won, or I suddenly lost. The game really needs some sort of Doomsday Clock for when someone is close to doomsday tech victory (this is a giant lost opportunity, think avatar clock in XCOM2), and some more reminders when someone is going for and is close to domination victory by holding sectors. Game needs more suspense and drama to do itself justice! It deserves it!

Beside that, these are some more suggestions:
  • vfx/animation/sound pass
  • better border colors for the colorblind and maybe dimmed "inner" border colors so your empire looks like a whole at a glance when zoomed out
  • strategic map generally hard to read, silhouette of NPC units often blend in with what they are guarding
  • sector yield display is slightly confusing, maybe show icons for forest, mountain, fungal etc. instead, and have smaller icons for the yield corresponding to that tech
  • social tech trees somewhat repetitive. I think this can be more easily alleviated by making each tech have more impact, so if you have lots of fungal terrain you REALLY want to gun for that tech
  • techs feel underwhelming. you get a new tech every like 2-3 turns, and most of them are a very slight bonus to some sectors IF you exploit them or build the right building, or a new tactical OP which is a variant of something you can already do etc. techs like summoning a constrictor as assembly, or flattening mountains as the dvar, those giving you new units, those with racial defining mods like fortification for dvar are the ones which are impactful

Thanks for reading this honest feedback; I absolutely LOVE the game and wish it nothing but great success. 4x gaming has never been better than today!
