Hi, I'm using doomsday 1.2 and when I load I get the messege "ERROR in language file, Token HEARS OF IRON 2! Doomsday" The game will load up if I click ignore twice. When it does the only thing that happens is the some of the techs are listed as "unknown string wanted." Now I was using the editor to put in new graphics for a couple of countries. When I checked tech tree in the editor all the ones that don't show up are listed as

[05 Jun 2006, 16:38:13] Finished checking techology database"

These are the ones that do not show up, but they can be researched and the units I made graphics for work fine. Any ideas how to fix this without reinstalling?

We do not support edited files, please reinstall, and see if the problem exists with the original files and only the latest patch installed, no mods.

The same thing happens to me.

The only modifications I made in the editor was to give more factories to a poor province. I get the critical error message the same way you do.

Same advice as above.

Why supply a game editor that creates mal -functions and not let people know how to fix these issues. Paradox would have been better off not providing the editor if it this heavily flawed :(

You would have to ask Johan that.
What to include is not really anything to do with me.

uninstall and reinstall the game, this has been stated above as the way to fix the problem.

This happened to me too after using the editor to mess with files. I had to reinstall the game, then replaced the edited files for the vanilla ones, but only those I knew would have been edited. Works fine now, I'm still testing it though. No error messages when starting the game, and no text problems.

*edit*
Problem found. When you edit, sometimes it changes the Doomsdaytext in the /config file. Keep a backup copy around, and replace it everytime you use the editor; this fixed it for me at least once. I'm not sure what's been changed exactly in the file though, I'll find that out soon. Also, I've noticed that sometimes instead of editing the "ground defense" option, it really adds a "surface defense" value. This will cause problem when you edit ground units, although I'm not sure why it does this. You can change it properly in the db/units/divisions or brigades folder.

*edit again*
When you use the editor, it removes all of the X's that should be at the end of every line in the doomsdaytext file. It also adds a semicolon to the first line. This is causing the problems I believe, but I'll have to let paradox fix it.

Send all that kind of info as a bug, it really has nothing to do with this forum.
