is there an alternate website or something like the paradox site where you download patches, that you can download the beta patches and/or the core (the website that it's on crashes my internet) and the picture pack? I can't download direct zip files off the forums for some reason, which is why I'm asking. any help is appreciated

I was able to download the 1.05 patch ok, but when I try to download the beta's, internet explorer doesn't download. It just quits down the download with an error emssage after a few seconds. I've fixed this somewhat with the download manager netleech but doesn't seem able to download direct zip files.

Sounds like a bad internet connection. I think the only way a d/l manager can help is by allowing you to resume broken downloads. Maybe the forum doesn't support resuming (it requires both client and server suppor) so that wouldn't help?
