Hi,

Don't know if this is the correct forum.

Some sons of the English king had the title Duke of Clarence. This Duchy is not in the game, but suppose I would like to create it, which county/counties would it consist of?

TIA

No problem that is isn't in the game.

Just wanted to know where to situate it.

Thanks
In game terms it would be smaller than a county...

Within the CK time period the title only existed for a total of 15 years; from 1392-68 and again 1412-21...

Then again

You also have to consider that English titles were not as closely linked with their geographical locations as continental ones were. So someone could be Duke of Clarence but have his estates anywhere else in England.

Yes. Something that makes it even harder to implement... The first Duke of Clarence was also Earl of Ulster, while the third Duke of Clarence (IIRC) was Earl of Gloucester...

Limitations of the grand sweep

Thats one limitation of the grand sweep of Paradox games - too much changes in the period of time represented. That's one problem I found with Vicky, technology or thought changes so much that whats valid for one period isn't for another.

Oh well ;)
