So, I recently noticed a rather weird thing. It seems that Duelist trait... doesn't give a bonus to duel skill multiplier. If anything, this trait should give the second or third highest bonus out of all traits, surpassed only by Formidable Fighter and maybe Skilled Fighter. Is there a reason it wasn't included?

It is a lifestyle trait which is something you enjoy doing not necessarily are very proficient at. Also giving it a bonus like that would make it objectively better than any other lifestyle trait

Okay, fair enough.

While we're on the subject, is there a reason why Valyrian swords don't give a +1 to combat? I always assumed that Valyrian steel is so prized because it's objectively better than regular steel which would give the wielder an advantage in combat. At the very least, it would nice to give a combat bonus to Lightbringer, given that it is clearly a magical sword.

The tooltip duel modifier is not what is actually used to calculate you winning a duel, the valyrian steel bonus is recorded as a character modifier not on the tooltip

Admittedly, a Duelist getting a bonus to one-on-one combat would make more sense than not, as it implies consistent fighting for recreation. Most Water-Dancers, for example, would probably be considered Duelists, while when someone consistently duels/trains against others in Westeros (such as Loras), they tend to be noted for it.
