papal states

in my game papal states take a lot of land when they move their capital each time a new bishop is controlling the pope,

so after a few hundred years, the papal states are getting bigger and bigger and they are dispersed all over europe,

is this wad?

in the end they also "steal" counties that once belonged to the player

FWIW I can verify that this happened in 1.01, and it made me wonder why making a county a bishopric was worthwhile. However, it turned out that my Bishop (Mide - central Ireland) had become Pope (but controlled by William the bastard).

Do you mean stealing counties when the Bishop (or Archbishop) becomes the Pope, or stealing other times as well? Even if it's just when a Bishop becomes Pope that he adds one province to the Papal States demense, eventually the Papal States will become quite large if they don't do something to parcel out land.

when another county goes papal states, they often don't give the title back to me, so the title goes along with the papal states,

in my current game, the papal states have 2 provinces in spain and one in England, and a few others in central europe,
