vassals not being vassals

version 1.02
situation: Grant title to coutier, mostly this seems to work ok, sometimes however the new count/countess/bishop is suddenly independant.
Why?
Works fine except in Spain Portugal.. had no problems in Lithuania etc against pagans but in Iberia lots of new counts suddenly where independant although no duke titles gained by them ( im still a duke)... might have something to do with me creating duke titles after granting.. then again might not

I've seen the same thing.

As the new King of Navarra, I gave the title of count of Rioja to a courtier married to my sister, only to discover a while later that he was happily independent and a little later, he was a vassal of the King of Castile.

Grrr!~

v1.02

king of poland granted newlyfounded duchy of prussia to his daughter. suddenly she became independent. no apparent reason, no war, no claim.

kind of like the thing in the 'vassals or no vassals' thread, but no apparent reason.

any ideas?
