I believe this was an issue carried over from CK2. Pretty much what it says in the title.
The founding Khitan dynasty that ruled the Liao/Khitan were the Yelü. Liao is the name of the dynasty itself. Chinese dynasties and those of Sinicized cultures like the Khitan would pick dynasty names that are based on regional origins (such as QIn or Han), or abstract concepts (such as Ming or Qing). These are separate from the family name.
Additionally, while we're at it, the wife of the Liao ruler should be a woman of the Xiao clan (which traditionally provided wives for the Khitan Emperors). According to Wikipedia (not the greatest resource but I'll link it here for convenience) the wife of the ruler in 1066 should be Xiao Guanyi, noted for her beauty and abilities in poetry and song.
