I am having a problem with the sound in the game. It seems that after a particular sound has played once, it never plays again. For example, I click a plane and it makes the engine noise then if I click another plane, the sound fx does not play! This same goes for the clicking sound on the interface.

Music plays flawlessly however.

These are my specs:

Win98SE
DirectX 8.1
SB128 PCI <-- these cards should be pretty problem free since
they are so old haha
NA HOI v1.1

Any input is appreciated.

Try the SB site and see if there is a newer driver.
See Viper37's post in the Useful Tools thread, regarding Sound blaster clean up.

The general rule is to always have your sound and video cards as far apart as possible. So it cannot hurt to try it.
