What are the differences between the 1933, 1934, and 1936 starts in Iron Cross?

I started 3 different games as Germany, each with the above start dates, and I did not notice significant differences in the condition of the German position - especially in the size of its army.

I am going out on a limb here, but I am going to say that historically there was a fairly significant difference in both the size and placement of Germany's troops from February 1933 to January 1936.

If you use the February 1933 scenario as the baseline, it does not appear that Germany has done f*ck all for nearly 3 years when begining in 1936. What gives? Am I missing some subtle yet significant differences that can account for the 3 years that passed between February 1933 and January 1936?

IC and technology increases are a given (I hope). I was looking at what Germany has done with her military that would cost the human player IC, resources, and time if he were to start with the 1933 scenario (in other words, the freebie air force from the Creation of the Luftwaffe event, and any freebie naval units from the Z Plan event don't count).

What did Germany build outside of the "gifts" that she receives through the manifestations of certain events? No infantry were built (including the divisions that are queued up when the re-armament event triggers), no armor, no additional naval units or air units to speak of....nothing. And the resource stockpiles are nowhere near as high as they should be if Germany had just sat idle for 3 years.

Like I said, it's as if Germany jerked itself off for the most part from 1933 until 1936. I can see no advantage or logical reason at all to begin a campaign any later than the '33 scenario; you get short-changed.

Any direct proposition for the IC to fix the scenarios?

Yes, as a matter of fact.

Take a gander at HoI2, Armageddon, AoD, etc. and you will quickly see distinct differences in starting positions from scenario to scenario. I am not talking about reinventing the wheel here so much as I am suggesting consistency with the afore mentioned games and some historical accuracy mixed with a little realism and imagination.

From 1933 to 1936, Germany was very busy rearming herself. She had significantly more troops in January 1936 than she did at the onset of 1933. But I suspect if she hadn't been building her army during that 3 year period, she would have quite a bit more resources and money to show for her "idle time" (or at very least would have made one hell of an investment in domestic improvements in the form of railroads, roads, research, the economy, etc.)

I'm simply asking that the scenarios have more than a few tech advances and a small amount of extra resources to mark the passing of 3 years time during that particular era and with certain nations. History seems to dictate the need for this.

Well I did a lot of event and text searching to find that oil plant/rare plant fix and came across alot of text code that is used to start the scenarios, albeit some in Spanish but still readable with translator and my daughter who is learning spanish in school. I think I might be able to change the values for the provinces by just editing the text or it all together, not sure, but I will check to see and report back how big or small the task would be. I understand your points valid for sure and I would bet the devs will fix this by A) lowering the troops you have in 1933/34 scenarios to next to nothing built or B) gradually add units for each scenario, update provinces a tad bit and build up more resources to the point of being able to start a war by 1936.

Let me check some code might take some time I am still trying to play my new fix game not even to 1937 yet, haha.

Hey Tigeriii..

What "fixed game"? did you make a fix so the game works better?

come on share now ! :ROLF:
