Early startdates and tech costs

I noticed the tech costs get ridiculously high when you have early start dates, is there any way to fix this, besides changing the date?

You must modify the technology table. The column for the year of finish is the key for you. Cost of technology is calculated from your actual year and the year mentioned in the tech table. Larger the difference, more expensive technology. Lower the year in the tech table. In FAQ you'll find more about the tech costs.
