What I mean by this is how slow it is to create an Ecumenopolis in combination with it using ur build queue. With it being both, it creates a situation where you are unable to build anything on that world for 10 years, and unlike its equivalent worlds, i.e., machine hive and gaia it is not affected by build speed or terraform speed, making it also the slowest. So I have a few ideas that I think would work to help with the problem and maybe add some more flavor to the worlds.

ideas
1. Just make it work like terraforming so you can still build on the planet while giving you some speedups. It's not going to break the game; it's just going to make it less annoying

2. Another simple one: just make build speed affect it, nothing more, nothing less. Just let us speed it up if you want it to be something that you construct.

3. My personal fav idea is to make it a situation. Doing this, you could not only remove it from the build queue, but you could also add new things to the world. You can add stages affecting how many resources you put into the construction. do you go all out using more resources and even giving your world a workforce debuff to show you're using your population to speed up the building process. This can also possibly lead to the ability to make an ECU more customizable by having it be specialized through the situation. Do you keep it as a normal ecu or do u pay to specialize it to only do one task, making it worse at other jobs or even giving u the ability to keep some base resource jobs on the world at the cost of something else?

these are just some ideas I had. My main problem though is just it taking up the build queue kind of sucks not being able to upgrade any buildings on the world without delaying the ecu .

I actually really like the situation idea, although then I'd also like the machine and hive worlds to get the same treatment. But perhaps you could have it be a situation that requires oyu to have the correct ascension perk, and the world to have all district slots built, no clearable blockers, at least 80% of all available jobs to be worked, and at least 90% of districts being urban. For hive/machine worlds the district limit could be slightly lower, say 80%.

Then the situation could have an option to halt the conversion totally, which could then apply a permanent (until control change) modifier to the planet that would also increase migration push from the planet showing how the planet is supposed to be almost out of living space but no large scale urbanization being allowed by the government. This would also allow clearing the situations away, so you don't have several there filling up the list in the outliner while you've set them to not continue.

The situation itself could have several phases, initial planning that could have you designate what you want the world to specialize in, or stay general purpose, building phase where you can speed up the construction by overworking the population or devoting more resources to the effort, with all options requiring some resources, but some costing more than others while increasing advance. Third phase could then be your population adjusting to living in the new world, and what kind of world it is becoming, whether you let the effluents from the planetary scale alloy industry to accumulate into large toxic seas on the planet, or build large balcony parks for the people to still be able to walk among nature even though there is nothing non-artificial on the whole planet anymore. And then of course tie in some events that can happen in different parts of the situation, from environmentalists advocating against or terror bombing the construction, plans going awry or not working quite as intended, to finding precious metals from underneath the third mountain range you levelled for the south-eastern suburbs of the secondary conurbanization area.

And of course if you are a member of the Galactic Community, representatives from the GC coming around to perform inspections on the construction sites as there have been credible accusations that you are in reality building an interstellar weapon/xenobiological nervetoxin laboratory complex/sapient organic processing facility underneath the surface here, and simply trying to fool everyone by claiming to just expand the existing urbanization on the planet.

Ecu is already the stronghest option for anyone and for everything. They are even better then ringworlds. Sooo, buffing even more? 10 year is a long time, but it's required for balancing it. Anyone can attack you in that timeframe, so be prepared. Did you completed it? Gg, no one can stop you now

Make the situation longer than 10 years if buffing ecus is that much of a concern.

Machine and Hive Worlds are only *very* slightly worse while also getting extraction districts and are made by terraforming rather monopolizing the build queue.

Simply not true anymore, Ecus were nerfed massively in 4.0 while Hive and Machine were both buffed. As it stands right now Ecus and Hive/Machine are pretty much on par or very close. While Hive and Machine are spammable and more versatile as in being able to produce base resources.

But Ecu is the only one:

- To cost 200 Influence.
- Take 10 years of a decision that keeps you from doing anything else.
- Cost a HUGE amount of minerals.
- Needs you to build out the planet in it's entirety before initiating it.

In the current situation, that simply isn't justified anymore.
