So I modded Warcraft 3 like 15 years ago and have no other modding experience. Lots of other people are better at it than I am, and lots of those people have had the same ideas I had, so I never had to bother with it. However, I'm trying to get back into it now because it's pretty fun regardless, but apparently, the Guide is just wrong in its step-by-step processes in some places -- which makes learning how to do the cool things a frustrating experience at best, especially for those who aren't experienced. The first issue is on page 14:

(modifying the Pathfinder unit)

Step-by-Step Guide
1. Open the Package Manager
2. Create a new package.
3. In the Package Manager, click on Open Tools > Resource Editor.
4. In the top left, click on File > Open > Units > Units_Culture > Barbarian - Unit

If when you attempt step 4, when it says to open the 'units' file, there isn't one, and in fact, there isn't any package data at all anywhere, of any kind., the reason for this is simple: The package editor opens the wrong file. You will need to go to [Drive game is installed on]->steam>steamapps>common>Age of Wonders 4>Content>Title>Packs>Units>Units_Culture.rpk Apparently the Editor doesn't open the .../Title/ Folder for whatever reason, on some computers.

Credit to @Vik for posting this fix on the Steam modding guide page for AoW4.

I will add more issues and fixes as I find them.
