Editing leaders: Where they come from?

I'm editing some of the leaders files (in the Db folder) for my own use. The most editing I've done has been with the leaders.spa (spanish leaders) file, correcting some mispelling errors and adding some full names.

But then some questions came to my head:
What is the maximum number of characters that may have a leader's name?
What if I mess around some of the start-end dates? are these coded elsewhere? (thus making possible some crashes or something)

After much research, there are some spanish leaders that simply I cannot identify. Is there anywhere (maybe related to the boardgame) a full list of commanders, even with short bios? (I have the Excel document with all leaders listed)

Hello Chema,

Well, obviously names should fit in the name window for the leaders in the game when playing, not sure how many characters, educated guess is about 20?

Start and end dates are free to choose, as long as you keep startdate ahead of enddate
No fun though, to have leaders running around for very long, if that was your intention.

If you can't identify leaders after some research, maybe do a suggestion for improvement of the leader files in the game for a next update?
I'm sure Doomdark would be happy to include improvements for Spanish leaders in the leader project (see the very long 'leaders for minors' thread.
Maybe it's an idea to ask some other spanish players to look at your ideas for change first?
