Looks like the editor released with 1.06 was actually an older version with a new datestamp (or modifications were applied to the old version instead of the 1.05 version). When it starts up it complains about (Unknown Type in LandDivision) 'speed_cap_art = 5'. It does this for all units and attachments then shows "Hearts of Iron - Scenario Editor 0.98" in the title bar when it finally loads.

I noticed this too.

Now, what to fix this?
A new patch. They probably just need to take whatever they did to the 0.98 editor and apply it to the 1.05 editor codebase.

When? Any news from Paradox regarding a patch for the patch?
I think they probably just got back from taking a break so I wouldn't expect anything for a couple of weeks at least. When 1.06 was released they said:

If anything serious is discovered, we'll fix it after the Easter Holidays in a revised 1.06 patch.
Anyway, all the editor is really good for is generating the lists of provinces and techs to put into a real scenario file with a text editor. Just browse the scenario files and ask in the mod forum to learn to create with a text editor.

Thing is what I'm primarily interested in is adjusting the infrastructure of provinces, secondly to adjust leader skills and then to learn how to create events.

Don't see how I'm going to change infrastructure by consulting the scenario files.

I don't know if infra change can be done in the scenario editor either. It can be done in the scenario files (if it couldn't then the editor certainly couldn't do it either). Leader skills and events definitely can't be done with the editor. All of these things can be and usually are done by editing text files in db\leaders, db\events, db\province.csv, etc.

Thanks, I'm just about to learn you see. Last time I had HoI installed I actually realized how to tweak the leader stats. I remember it was done through an easy to use Excel spreadsheet which is obviously located db/leaders.

Yet, when I look at it now it's all just a huge mess. The information looks like being there, but it's not located neatly in the Excel tables anymore but massed up to the left, seperated by semicolons or so it seems.

Just wonder if this is as it should be, is it the same for you, or has something happened to my excel program in the interim?

Sorry for digressing like this.

Just made a reinstall and looked at the files before putting in any patches, so it's not related to any upgrades.

Lol. On my patched-to-1.06 version the editor's timestamp hasn't even been updated. It's listed as feb 9, 2003.
