The editor is FUBAR in 1.06. As you say an old version was included by mistake.
 
Easiest way would be to uninstall, then install and patch to 1.05, then copy the editor out to a temp folder then patch to 1.06, then copy the editor back to the Game folder and overwrite the one there.
 
I don't know if that is possible right now due to copyright and distrubuting agreements.
