How far along are various groups with their ideas/coding? Are their mods generally working?

I feel like my batch will be ready for betatesting as soon as I can get triggers for controlled provinces and such to work. I was wondering where other people were.

Shrineguard is giving us access to her free bandwidth, YAY! it will be something like www.shrineguard.com/eep and we will store all our goody goody files for people to download and test at will. Unfortunately it appears that shrineguard is away on holidays and she still hasn't given me the password (though she promised). but I am patient and I understand there are more things to life than EEP :)

A little bit of patience and we will have our EEP/AON central... Cool huh? Maybe some porn banners to make some $$$... no no no! :D

Atta boy!

This only shows what a random, disorganised, stinky, grog-swilling group we are (YEAH!), since I am the project leader and I don't remember anything or anyone saying that YOU are collecting (stealing? yes I am paranoid) all MY, er OUR events!!!!!!

:D
Yes I am joking

Once I get the site running it will be KUL (hehe) if you would send them to MEE. "D

I understand that the EEP files are ADDITIONS to the original files? RIGHT... So I suppose you will upload the original event files with the new ones added?

yes they are additions and originals will come along with the fake- euh I mean EEP ones :)

Fate, the EGC will NOT be forgotten from our soon to be site! Yes! I DO have delusions of grandeur! :D

Anyway, the EGC and EEP can be linked since EEP will be a stand alone group of Events, New leaders, Monarchs for the players and then they can be used in the EGC as a scenario... (btw, both names are really lame, let's just ask HArtmann if we can use his IGC :D)

My events are ready for beta-distribution. The holdup on the trigger = {control ...} turned out to be because I was using which instead of data to specify the country ... aaaaaarrrrgggghhhhh ...

I think things are pretty friggin' hard as Byzantium on Hard or Very Hard diff now (Turkey seems to make right for Constantinople about 2/3 of the time, and it's #2 on the list the other 1/3 of the time). My events are going to make things, by and large, even worse for Byzantium, I think. Unless you somehow can wrest about 5 provinces from the Turks.

While we're on the topic of EEP/AON conventions, can we agree to use eep_major_xxx.txt and aon_flavor_xxx.txt (or what have you) for our files? Or any other file naming convention. I just want that decided before we start swapping files.

Ok, what about if we're replacing an official event with an improved version? :D

For instance, I need to comment out the trigger that requires no Byzantium in the City of Man's Desire event for Turkey, and I'm eventually going to rewrite the effects of the Union of Churches event for Byzantium. How's that gonna go down? I vote for it going down punk.

I'm about a week away from a beta version of an improved random events file incorporating A) some extra events to avoid too many repeats--mainly the ideas from EEP Random which Havard didn't incorporate plus some historical flavour stuff, B) more choices added to the severe events already there so you can at least choose how you're going to be f*ked and C) more scaling for costs/gains. I've given all my events, as well as all my mutilations of original 1.02 events, IDs in the 97000-98000 range and would like to continue with those numbers in my next project (a beefed up events file for the Age of Religious Discord, instead of the simple Reformation/Counter-Reformation model in place now). Any objections?

Hmm...nobody else is reporting their progress. I've got seriously delayed because I've been revamping the random events file to include way, way more history and to integrate with a revamped Religious Events file. Now I'm expecting more like late February, but it'll be cool.:D

The Americas have been troublesome - a lot of event ideas aren't workable, so fixes requre changing the scenarios and province.csv. Testing them means playing through a century or two to see what happens when the AI takes on the new environment.

So far the Aztecs and Zapotecs are falling to the Spanish, and most of the North American native provinces will convert to the culture of their conquerors. Actually had the US form last time.

Oh my, this will take a long time... I'm less than 30% done. :(
