Effect of climate zones

Hello community,

as far as I can tell each biome/climate has different bonuses. For example do races react diferently to different climates. But does anyone know how or where I can look it up?

It is hinted, that happiness of colonies is connected to climate as well. How?

I also found in the help files (clime) a list of ressources that each climate is connected to.

Please help me out ;-)

Races don't care about Clime. I guess they dropped it.
When you research the late game Clime techs, you get a Happiness bonus from those Climes.

Dvar can ignore the happines impact of vulcanic terrain. But true, what are the exact effects of climate to begin with in Planetfall? It seems to be much different to AoW3, since it's not bound on races,.. or is it?
