I bought the Privateer bundle from Steam. It works on this computer fine, but on my new computer which has a fresh install of everything and is a lot better computer. I want it to work on that one so I can remove the evaluation copy of windows 7 on this computer, I am hoping to let the wife have this computer soon. Plus the newer computer will be my new gaming computer so I want it to work on it. What I think is wierd, both Pirates Cove and Privateer works on it. but the Directors Cut doesn't. It gives the steam error "This game is currently Unavailible" which in other terms means there is an Error while loading. I do have 2 monitors on that computer running off of a XFX NVidia GTS 250. The motherboard is a XFX 750a SLI with a 2.8 ghz Phenom II Quad core processor. 4 gigs of memory installed. I got a ticket in for it under Steam but unsure how fast they will respond.

Going to uninstall it all and try to reinstall it one pieceat a time to see if I can get Directors cut to work first before adding the other 2

i'm having the same issues with the vanilla game bought from steam. i have no clue as to what is happening. i have tried running in compatibility mode for windows vista SP2 and running as administrator. displays the same message as your when trying to start from steam.

Well its not all Windows 7 installs..I have Windows 7 32-Bit Evaluation on this machine and it does run. I tried in all compatibility modes, tried all the help files about the problem I could find on steam and on here....nothing seems to help. So I can' complain I guess since it does run on this machine, but I want to switch all my games to my newer system to give this computer to my wife.

It looks like this game doesn't like 64 bit windows - either vista or 7....

Fix for this is to load the latest 32 Bit version of C++ distribution even on a 64bit machine.

Did it worked? Do you have a link for that? I search and there is a lot of version like Xalan, Xerces, etc I'm a little lost not sure which on I really need to fix this problem...

nevermind, my problem was not with c++ but with the language of the game.
For some reason my version became a Designer's cut (i don't recall buying that version on steam, it became it i think with one of the patches).
Anyways i was able to switch it from french to english by installing pirate bay.
