Has anyone experienced family members eloping when their religion as polygamy and adultery is allowed? Why would you even elope? there's no point. Just take your soulmate as another wife / husband.
 
There is a point: the elopement overrides normal marriage blocks like a lack of approval from the family, and the prior marriages of either side blocking possibility of a new one. (Especially since one of the parties may not benefit from the increased marriage slots.)

Okay but they're landed and why are they divorcing their other spouses. It's not like these are some teenagers in the court, it's a grown ass man with two other wives. Just take the person as a spouse
