Game Version
1.06.0.51066

What platform are you using?
Steam

What OS are you playing on?
Windows

Do you have mods enabled?
No

Have you tried verifying your game files (Steam only)?
Yes

Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
Unable to complete "Make A Killing" Quest. The quest directs me to "Talk to Thompson," when I try to talk to Thompson all I get is a "test" dialogue in quest text window.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Please simply try doing the "Make A Killing" quest. It will not complete at the point it directs you to "Talk to Thompson" after completing the option to talk to McDonough. Opting to forego the option to talk to McDonough does not resolve the problem. The quest fails to complete altogether.

How much "pain" is this causing you?
10

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
The quest simply fails to complete at the point of trying to talk to Thompson.

I'm getting this bug on the Nintendo Switch version, game version 1.06.0.51066m. Two things to note:

1) For me, Thompson's dialogue box is completely blank (though perhaps this is what the OP means by "test dialogue"), as is the one option given for responding. Selecting that option (that is to say, pressing A) ends the dialogue, but the "Talk to Thompson" objective in the mission description will not be checked off, and thus the mission cannot proceed.

2) If I forego the earlier, optional item in the mission, which involves getting in a taxi to go talk to MacDonough Hoffman, I have a different problem: talking to Thompson still gives me the blank dialogue, but now selecting the blank response option (pressing A) _does_ check off the "Talk to Thompson" objective and yields a new objective, which is to make nice with The Alley Cats faction (via tribute, protection agreement, non-aggression pact, etc.—let me know if you need the exact text). Completing that objective yields a new objective, "Talk to Bill", which I can only assume means Thompson again, as the mission icon will once again be floating above his head. But, talking to Thompson now once again results in the blank dialogue, and this time, selecting the one blank response option (and ending the dialogue) won't check off the "Talk to Bill" objective and the mission remains stuck.

Please consider this bug a high priority to fix. With this mission unbeatable, the entire game's story is stopped in its tracks and cannot be completed. It's a game-breaking bug.

Update: "Talk to Bill" is discussed in another thread ("Empire of Sin - Make a killing mission bill dialogue gone", thread ID 1498382, sorry I can't make a link) and the workaround there worked for me. Hopefully this information will help fix the bug for good.
