Playing as the Byzantine Emperire i conquered a muslim teritory which wasn't connected to my other lands. I gave the land to one of my sons. My army was still standing there (the varangian guard), and out of nowhere a rebbel army of 2200 men appeared. The instant the rebels where beaten a new army appeared this continued until my army was beaten and eventually the territory was taken over by rebels and defected to the muslims...

There's an event that spawns huge rebellions in unconnected territories. It's supposed to explain that you need to connect your lands if you want to hold onto them, but since it happens to your vassal son and not you it is never shown to the player...

There is an issue with endless spawning rebels reported on our internal forums. If you didn't get any event beforehand I believe it's the same issue.
