I just finished reading the above book. Its main plot device is the
transplanting of a county from the Appalation Mountains in the late
20th/early 21st Century into Thuringia just before Breitenfeld. The
transplanted Americans have to 'gear down' from 20th Century tech to
early/mid 19th Century, or just about the top of the EU tech tree.

It's not bad, although it does play fast and loose with history
somewhat! But it got me thinking...

How would you go about simulating something like this? What would
I have to do to edit the scenario file to set this up?
Obviously Thuringia itself must be made independent, and then I
must change the tech levels (where?) and leader files/values
(where? how?) but I don't know how to do that.

Can anyone give me some pointers? I'm willing to experiment a little!
I assume starting from the Thirty Years War scenario would be
the best idea, although it might be fun to go in at any date.

Steve.
