Hello

I've been having this issue everytime I try to play the game; I tried updating the C++ of the following links

https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=8328
https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=13523
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=52685
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

and even thought it was my first time launching it, did a full clean re-install just to make sure. As the error persists, I'm allready uploading the file asked on other posts, in hope that it helps.

Has the game ever run on this computer? Or never yet?

Add ck2game.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender
Yup, allready done

Has the game ever run on this computer? Or never yet?
I had installed it some time ago when the game was free, but even then it didnt started properly, giving me this error; at the time I wasn't that bothered because it was only the basegame, but now that I've acquired the DLCs I was willing to post seeking help.

Tried to take out the steam overlay permission, as I saw on another post, but didn't helped as well

Did all those 4 installers you linked above run okay? Any errors or problems?

Does the game create the Documents/paradox/ck2/ folders, even though it fails? Or not?

If not place the attached userdir, txt in the Steam folder where ck2game.exe is . That tells the game to write those user files there instead of under the Documents folder. Do they get made then?

They run smoothly

Does the game create the Documents/paradox/ck2/ folders, even though it fails? Or not?
Nope, they're missing; there's only the Victoria II and the March of the Eagles folders there

I couldn't properly download the file you uploded there, but I was assuming it was a simple .txt file with a single dot written, so I created and named it manually - still, no folder created on Documents/Paradox/

If you have installed RadeonPro, or a gaming VPN app called Evolve, or the MSI Gaming App, or Duet, disable it as it clashes with this game.

If that still doesn't help please install the free utility Speccy. Send its output to a text file and attach that here, thanks.

Does Vic2 run okay, or also has an issue starting up?

Do we know what this is?
C:\Users\GUSTAV~1\AppData\Local\Temp\nsk59D4.tmp\ui\res\installer.exe
That aside I see nothing of concern in there, unfortunately.

You can remove userdir.txt as it did not help.

Please try running these MS utilities, see if they find anything to fix:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-au...er-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/install/repair

Do we know what this is?
Temporary files for the CCleaner installer that came together with Speccy XD I accidentally installed it together

Done

Last time I checked it wasn't displaying the DLCs, but that's it

see if they find anything to fix:
First one ok, second one found nothing, only solutions that should be done with any case scenario, which they did.

Still displaying the same error when launching the game; it's time to think about formating the computer, maybe?

One last thing - exit the Steam app entirely and run ck2game.exe by itself. It will still fail but do you see any new error now?

If you do go ahead and do a clean wipe and reinstall of Windows, obviously you'll need to run those 4 installers in your OP here again.
