Steps to reproduce

I started CitiesSkylines II after the last update (Quays & Piers) and got the ocean screen without the game menu. I fixed the problem with the instructions from Paradox --> game works.
I wanted to reactivate the mods (only those that have received an update) and got the error message (screenshot attached)
I tried to solve the problem with Paradox's instructions, but I can't find the error messages “Cannot find central directory” or “Error occurred creating” in the Player.log Notepad.

I want to play the game with mods.

First, let's eliminate mods, as until they are updated by their authors they can cause problems after any new game patch. Please add --disableModding to the game's Steam launch options. Then start a new test city - do you still get these crashes then?

If so, please try this: Rename the "Cities Skylines II" folder in your C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\LocalLow\Colossal Order (to whatever you want) and then start the game. To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

The game will create a new clean CS2 folder and if that works it means that something in your original folder is corrupt and preventing the game from starting. Do NOT delete your original folder though as your saves are stored there and if you want to keep playing you'll need to move them over to the new fresh folder!

Let us know if that helps you. Good luck!

Sounds like you have two problems then, one or more corrupted saves AND some problem mod or mods.

All you can really do in each case is try each save/mod one by one to see which is doing it.

Good luck!

My most important savegame works, the mods cannot be activated in the game.
If your savegame works in vanilla, that's all we can do. We don't have authority about mods and you could ask the modding community for support with your modded game.
