Error Problem

I am trying to reload HOI2 as I have done before. The game has always worked well but now I get the following message.
Component transfer error

Component: Core files
File group: Common
File: E:/data2.cab
Error: Data error (cylic redundency check).

So what went wrong this time.
Any insight would be appriciated

Could you give some clarifying details?

1. By reload do you mean reinstall the game, or just play the game by running the hoi2.exe?
2. Is drive E: your DVD or CD drive?
3. What version of HOI2 is it - HOI2, DD, Arma, Anthology?

1. Yes I mean to reinstall the game.
2. It is a CD drive.
3. I don't know what version it is, but I have 3 patches to run after I load it.

The only thing I can add in addition to the link in 13th warrior's post, is to try to install the game on another PC. The idea being to isolate whether the problem is with the install CD or with your PC's CD drive.
