Have you done any of the standard things in the self-help thread? The first to try is to rename the AVI dir to AVI_OLD, reboot, and start up EU2 again.

When this happens it is usually because the install did not create a save game folder, also are you using a mod dir with EEP because you should check for a save game folder thier as well.

What version of EEP are you running and does it crash when you run the original game instead of EEP? If you installed 1.42b without installing 1.42a first that would cause you to have no savegeme folder in the mod-dir.

I was using the latest version of EEP. Then for 1.08 I decided to uninstall everything so that the patch would work properly.
After the reinstalling EU2 and applying 1.08 I loaded up EUII. After the part where you load a scenario or saved game, the game just crashes to the desktop. I dont even get an XP message saying the game crashed. This leads me to think the program might be returning an exit program command. What ever is going on I dont understand it.

I have checked my EUII directory and I have a saved game folder in the scenario folder. Im not using EEP at the moment I was just wondering if the previous install might not have uninstalled correctly.

Thanks for the help though. If I cant get it going in the next few days I might reinstall XP and see if that helps.

Have you done the usual stuff like renamed the AVI folder to AVI_back, set color depth to 16BIT, and turned off all background apps like e-mail/ICQ/Messanger/Virus protection ... ?
