Hey everybody,
Have you been looking for a RolePlaying game session of stellaris? Not just conquering everything with meta min/max builds, but actually playing your race? You want to hang out with fun people enjoying a fun weekly MP game in Stellaris? We got you covered!
With a group from May, we decided to host a new MP game. A lot of our original group have quit playing since then and we need fresh blood! Right now we got 5-7 people able to play already. We are aiming at 15-20 to be perfect.
About the game:
Saturday 19-22CEST
Discord as voice chat is mandatory (we could swap to TS if we can get a server and the majority of the people prefer that)
Huge, 4-arm galaxy. Some advanced start AI's for the militaristic/war-like species to not need to kick out a player immediately. No regular start AI because they are too easy
We are using the base game, we did discuss mods but it's a big hussle tbh.
Plantoids is included since I will host the game and I have it purchased.
About the RP:
It is an RP game. Do not join if you solely mean to stomp people. We stay in character in the chat (we also got split up roams for in-character and out-of-character).
We got some simple rules set up too. This is as they appear on our Discord channel:
https://discord.gg/n8w7W (link might be expired after a few days, if that's the case just post here and we'll get you in!)
NoWay out.
EDIT: we also intend to stick around with each other for future games. So when 1.3 Heinlich launches we might decide to start a fresh game so all changes apply to our game from the start.

Saturday gaming Session JOINING: (these may seem harsh, but trust me, it works way better this way and we discussed it before deciding to use it)
Hosting will start at 18:30 CEST. I expect people to request to join the game between 18:30 and 18:50 CEST. I will not allow individual people or groups in, I will transfer and sync to everybody at 19:50 CEST. So no reason to state you are still on hold. If you are not sure you are showing up, lemme know and I will see if you are in the list I WILL start the transfer at 18:50 CEST exact. In the hope we got everybody synced at 20:00 CEST and we can start at the NORMAL hour. IF you are going to be LATE (meaning after 18:50 CEST): You warn me here. Once I know everybody who is going to be late, we can short things out and give you a second timestamp to all join at once. So NOT: I'll be online at 19:05 and I want to get synced right away. If the latest person who informs me they are going to be late can make it online by 19:20, we'll all sync you at 19:25. No exceptions. IF you DO NOT INFORM me you are being late: You WILL have to WAIT until the first BREAK before getting in. These rules are so that there aren't too many hiccups with joining and we do not lose to much time with getting everybody in the game. Saturday Gaming Session NON-ATTENDEES: IF you CANNOT ATTEND, please inform me (here in this chat with a tag or in PM). If you do inform you will not be available to play, you WILL get IMMUNITY. If you DO NOT INFORM: you will be FAIR PLAY to take over
List of non-attendees for upcoming week:

Breaks
Everybody will get a 5-10 minute break at the start of each session to get things settled again, to rename some stuff and talk with their neighbours again. Somewhere around the middle of the session we will most likely hold a small 5-10 minute break again so everybody can get to do some wiewie. At 23:00 CEST sharp the game will be paused. I will most likely let the game run for another minute or 5-10 before the hosting stops. That way you get a total of 15-30 minutes per session in which you have a pause for renaming stuff if you cannot get it done during regular speed.
General Fill in the spreadsheet and word documents for your species background. They are located in the 'Lore Section' Fill in the character traits section with as many keywords as you can think of. That way, when someone else plays your empire, they will know how to roleplay for you. No human races on Sol allowed. We’ve deliberated on this and decided that having human empires would make the problem of two Sols. You are allowed to have humanoid races though.(gewijzigd)
Roleplay Definitions
IC: In-character
OOC: Out-of-character
Metagaming: Roleplaying outside of the character/empire’s POV, with knowledge that the character/empire doesn’t know or in ways which do not correspond with how the empire would act/react to certain events
Roleplay Rules
- Stay in-character. Act as the way your empire would act. For instance, a pacifistic empire would generally not declare war, and an isolationist empire would generally try not to be involved with other empires. If you’re playing as someone else’s empire, remember to refer to their lore and personality. If playing as an AI generated empire, you are allowed to create a personality for them.
- Always use an OOC tag when not in-character - e.g. “We accept your demands. [[could you open the menu please?]]”
- No metagaming! Your empire doesn’t know what you know.
- When roleplaying and making negotiations, don’t use the global chat in the early-game. Instead, talk in the sector chatrooms. Use the global chat later in the mid-to-late game when a galactic community has been formed.
- Always roleplay negotiations such as war declarations, alliances, and peace treaties, and ask the host to force-pause to do so when necessary. Ethos will be a basic guideline to determine what alliances and war declarations are possible. However RP will allow changes in this formula. Such as a defensive militarist is more likely to make allies for defensive reasons, and aggressive militarists wont ally with others because they would not like the competition. For example: militarist who have a tendency to expand won't band together. But militarists who are not militarist because they want to expand but because they are defending can do it more easily. Or xenophobes will be less likely to join an alliance than xenophiles and will have to explain it more in detail.
- No Gaming the system: no cheesy builds, no exploiting afk players, no exploiting the AI. We trust on your own moral compass to know what is gamey and what is not. If you are not sure, ask other people.
