I know that USA 1492 was an option for the IGC but would anyone specifically be interested in a conversion of the EU2 scenario we are working on for release as an EU1 scenario?

You can find out about the scenario's design process here, and if you have EU2 you can even download it here.

I would be interested in knowing your thoughts.

Mention the words EU 1 and scenario and you got my attention  :D I do how ever not entirely understand the difference between Vinland in the IGC and a possible converted version of your Vinland scenario? Wouldn these be about the same?

Sure Im interested! So basicly a EU 1 version of the Vinland scenario would be to edit the map, insert monarchs and leaders and possible some colonial dynanism, right? The EU 2 version will, of course, be more detailed with all the events and such, but yeha, it would be fun to do a EU 1 version.

Yep thats the ticket...

There are still, as is evident here, many people who play EU1 and alot. It would a way to provide (hopefully) another nice scenario for them to add to there collection which they would be able to experience again when they buy EU2 in a whole new light.

I will ask the team if they agree whether this is a good idea.

I would just like to jump in and add that any work to convert the Vinland scenario to an EU1 format would be very minimal. EU1 has no events of course, and all the monarchs and things are pretty much already done.

One option that has cropped up is of you doing the conversion on our behalf. Does this sound interesting, or worth your while?

Please be honest and upfront in your response.

Making a scenario to EU 1 doesnt take much time, so Im fine with it. If you give me a screenie over what provinces Vinland starts with, tell me what its core provinces are and what areas it shall be viewing in the start, give me the graphic and send me the monarchs, leadars and ai file... All i Have to do is to put these things togheter into an scenario. Its like C.K says you ahe probably done theses things already to your EU 2 version, so all you got to do is mention them for me and I put it togheter :)

Firstly i would download the zip version of the EU2 project we have been working on.

There are several branches of the monarchs (and to a much lesser degree the leaders). Assume for the EU1 conversion its the military wing that attains power. That way, minus events, you get many conquistadors, generals, etc. The graphics for shields are naturally already included (dont know if the quality has to be reduced though).

Our version is slightly different, but the known provinces remains the same as what you see here. The capital is now in gander province. All provinces on newfoundland are cities. None of the other provinces in that picture are settled. The only core outside of this image will be isle royale. Additionally the two provinces north of newfoundland in labrador are also owned, presently lvl 6 TP's. Not sure of their names in EU1.

They know nothing of europe and their knowledge reaches only so far as the coast of iceland (no further). Greenland (is it in EU1?) is only know up to the coastline. The provinces themselves are not known. They presently are core provinces. Though that is to be removed in the next version. They know as far south as massachusetts... again not the province though.

Just another question... you want a "clean" Vinland scenario for EU 1, right!? I shall just use the GC as base and add Vinland to it, start should be in 1492 and et.c!?

I also noticed that you got different wings of monarchs. I cant simulate this in EU 1 so I have followed the first wing in the monarch files. Hope this will due. :)

k, I use the military wing then. I can also add a Cot. As for the extent of the nation I will calculate that Vinland will afford to colonise every third year, so it would make about 2 dozens colonisation trys and thats about 3 cities or 6 half developed colonies. I´ll make it 1 city and 3 lvl 3 colonies then.

Sounds great. I look forward to an early beta screenshot of the starting location soon?

Sure...

The two at the top is trade posts. Those on New foundland is provinces, then you got a colony, a province and a colony to the left. A cot is added. Vinland have no knowledge of any other nation. the closest one in EU 1 is the iroquese. Monarchs are finished, leaders also. I made an ai based on your EU 2 one. The shield and flag is tucked in, although not shown on the pic. Have I missed something? Also note, Bocaj help me out with this scenario to.... so that he gets some credits ;)

You want me to do a readme file? I havent done the text.csv file yet either. Usually I put in the read me that players should change the tag to the proper name of the nation, just to make sure of that every language version gets it right
