Hello, I have one trouble with EU2.
My system is PIV-2,4 GHz, 512 Mb Ram, VideoCard GeForce FX5200 (with the latest drivers) and my OS is a WIndows XP, and a 80 Gb HD.
My trouble is, when I play the game exit suddenly to windows desktop. I patch the game to the version 1.07, but this doesn't resolve the problem. What can I do?

There are many possible reasons for this (we call it a CTD, Crash To Desktop), ranging from bugs in Windows, to drivers to the game itself.

Your first move is to rename the AVI directory, under the EU2 dir, to anything else, such as AVI_OLD. This stops the bink player from running which causes many problems, mostly soon after the game starts or as it starts up.

If the CTD occurs reliably at a given date there may be a bug in an event, let us know the date.

If it happens when you do a particular action, such as look at CoTs, I suspect you have a non-english version of the game - the Italian, German and Spanish versions have problems like this. If this is the case check in those language forums for help, or you can just download the latest beta and use the text.csv from that (which is in English). These problems are caused by errors in the translations from English, which is all done in text.csv .

You say you have the latest video drivers, but just check that again on the nVidia site. Also check for sound card drivers, and lan card drivers if playing in multi-player mode. Also check you have the latest DirectX version, 9.0b.

Set your color depth to 16 Bit as well as the advice Andrew set out.
