I recently re-installed EU2 and when I turn the music ON, the screen glitches with black borders.
I run EU2 1.09 with no add-ons installed and I installed the full installation (with in-game music on my HDD). Tried 800X600 & 1024X768 resolutions. both of them show glitches.

I run the game on a AMD TurionX2 2.0ghz, 128mb Nvidia video card. It is on Windows XP SP3.

I ran this game on windows vista a while ago and all went well. I downgraded to WinXP for school purpose and now it runs with a blinking screen and no music at all. All seems weel when I turn off the music but then again... I miss the in-game music :)

Thanks, have a nice day!

Have you disabled the intro video (by renaming the folder called AVI to something else)?

Welcome to the Paradox forums BTW. :)

Thanks but...

Thanks for the help guys, but it still doesn't work... well, I think it's a problem with my soundcard running in XP. You see it's a laptop pre-loaded with Vista and I suceeded in finding all the drivers to downgrade it but the sound *sometimes* can cause problems. :(

Well, i'll put the songs on my PSP and listen to it while playing lol :)

Also, thanks for the warm welcome. I hoped there was still an EU2 community and there IS! cool! :)

I had the same problem with K-Lite installed. It was using the ffdshow audio decoder to play the music. So I configured it not to use ffdshow with EU2.exe. If you have K-Lite you might try this.

OMG, yes, maybe?

that is a fine reply! I will look into my codecs to see what kind of pack I have installed on my PC. You got a great point there and I completly forgot about this when troubleshooting.

Thanks alot!!
