The single most unfun thing I end up doing in an EU4 campaign these days is trying to sell off the 20 or so ships I've captured over my naval force limit after a long war with the Ottomans or some other large power.

This typically involves breaking off small chunks of my fleet, sailing them to various naval regions about Europe to be within port range, and then an endless amount of back-and-forth clicking for each prospective customer, where you continually marge and subdivide your sales fleet to see how much they are willing to pay for how many ships and try to manually determine what is the optimal fleet size for a sale. The whole experience is awful. I can't think of any other aspect of the game that more badly needs a QoL consolidated options window.

All of this hassle could be eliminated if the game had a sales manager where we can select the ships in our fleet that we want to sell in one batch and the geographical region, whereupon the game draws up a list of interested nations within that region and how much they are willing to pay. Ideally, it would then offer you a button you can click to make the selected ships automatically break off, form its own fleet, sail to the right region, and use up a diplomat to complete the sale.

Hard agree! Any campaign where you’re stacking ship capture modifiers instead of this becoming a viable strategy for making money quickly turns into a complete hassle and a pain and you end up just scuttling most of the ships.

I didn't even know you could sell ships. I just disbanded any captured ships I didn't want.

that was similar to my reaction seeing this thread.

”We added selling ships? hmm when?”

then i remembered that it was something i did for art of war, and that was a long time ago.

Please update this feature.

Currently the game isn't really letting you sell ships so much as it is letting you sell off chunks of your fun and enjoyment for a pitiful compensation in ducats. The ship merely acts as a coupon to enter into this painful transaction, redeemed only by unsuspecting rookies. Or compulsive people like me who should know better but cannot disband fleets without a fight.
