EU4 Freezing Briefly Upon Unpause, Every Few Months For 5-10 Seconds

Howdy,

I just started having this issue this year. Last update I played was during the initial release of Lions of the North where I did not have this issue. The issue is as the title speaks, the game will freeze upon unpause for 5-10 seconds, start running fine for a few months, and then repeat the freezing as time passes. Some minor details: This only seems to happen after 1600 or so in the game. I have only tried games as Korea thus far on this patch, and clean uninstalling the game and verifying the files seems to be unsuccessful even after beginning a fresh campaign. Both campaigns I have used an old cosmetic mod that hasn't caused issues in the past, but if that may be causing the problem, I will disable it in the future. I have tried to run the save without the mod on and the problem persists.

You seem to have the same issue as the person in this steam discussion.In your save there is a big colonial war between Spain+CNs on one side and Portugal+CNs and GB+CNs on the other side. Deleting that war or switching to the AI and making a peace deal seems to fix the freeze. But of course that's only possible if you melt/de-ironman your save. The good news is that this is not a permanent problem and it will go away once that war ends, so you can just play through the freezing for a few more years. Contrary to the situation in the steam discussion, the freezing gets worse in your save if you join the war. I guess that's because you are playing on the other side of the world and this would further complicate the AI decision making.

I will make a bugreport about it with your save and the save from the steam discussion.
