Dear community,

After playing the game for many years, I have finally encountered a bug that I can't get around.

First and foremost kudos to the developers.

I will try to be brief and to the point. I have tried re-installing from anew (with removing everything). But the game still consistently crashes in my Ironman playthru for Brandenburg.

It does not happen on a specific date of the year. Unfortunately, I can not correlate to a specific AI action. Presumably it is yet another full annexation bug on Mac Os X.

My map is almost Europe now. Burgundy exists and strong and fights Austria. It's pretty random and I would say I would probably be able to make it run thru the New Year's as maybe this will change some of the variables. The stack trace is attached. It does look like zero dereference I am afraid. I will be glad to help you debug this, but I am unsure whether I can continue playing my Ironman save if I make a new one. But for now, my main focus is to try to report the bug so that it could get fixed.

As luck would have it I would try to continue relaunching the game and fingers crossed the AI does not do the full annexation. Unfortunately for me, I have no way to apply any sort of hotfixes myself as it is not me doing the peace deal but AI.

I tried 1.72.3 from Beta's but it does give me the same stack trace.

CDependency::Transfer(CCountryTag, CCountryTag) + 37.

This action is done not by me. I tried already making a peace deal not to my advantage, moving troops around, assigning different generals as other posts suggest. But to no avail.

I also attached the save. I'd say it should be reproducible.

Hope to hear from you soon.

The stack trace looks like the crash which many people have had on macOS in recent versions. From what I gathered it seems to happen when a country gets annexed which has a subject who's independence gets supported. In your save Poland is about to annex Crimea who has the vassal Imereti who's independence is supported by Circassia.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say here. The "CDependency::Transfer" line is also in your stack trace. And Version 1.72.3 does not exist and version 1.37.3 already had that crash. But AFAIK it does not happen in version 1.37.2, so you could try that version as a workaround. Or you can pass the date on the windows version of the game which does not seem to have this crash(either on windows computer or with something like the whisky app which can run windows programs on macOS).

That's a different issue which is much rarer, because it only happens when a government power bar triggers an event when it is full and there are very few of these. The most common is the cultural unity mechanic of Germany and the only other ones are the third monarchy and parliament vs monarchy mechanics for England/GBR which are so rare that nobody even reported that bug from version 1.35 when they were introduced till it started happening with Germany in version 1.37.

Thank you! It did indeed work.

This seems to be too much trouble. I don't have any Window PCs. I could give it a spin on a Linux box. Not sure that the EU4 is supported there, though.

Either way, I think my save is a good way to reproduce the issue on the latest stable release on a Mac. Hope that it would help.

Thanks a lot for your attention and prompt replies.
