The title is the message i got when i tried to install the lates N American patch for EU2. But it is installed. I don't really understand this...maybe i shoudnt have chosen "open this file from its current location" now i have to re-download it.

You post did not make a lot of sense. :)

What publisher version do you have and what patch were you trying to install?

Who's logo is on your CD? plus did the game come packaged with any other games?

I have the inverse problem

I, well my son actually, attempted to load EU2 onto our brand new PC and when he was finished there was only an empty directory. We attempted to "uninstall" but the wizard says that the files don't exist. Using the PC control panel I confirmed there was no EU2 to uninstall. When I attempt to install from the CD now, it tells me that the game is already installed and aborts. Knowing that my CoN version of EU2 is v1.07, I then tried to install the v1.07 patch. ( i thought that was clever) No soap! The patch installer informs me that the game ISN'T installed and aborts. i know that you folks don't officially support the CoN version of EU2, but I have a lot more faith in you lot than I do in SF. What is the CD installer looking at to determine, wrongly, that the game is loaded? Can I change that manually to get my game back! I've been playing EU2 on my old PC for months!! BTW, CoN loaded and runs fine on the new PC

Presumably entries in the registry, if it works anything like straight EU2. Search the registry with regedt32 for strings like "universalis" and "crown" that are unlikely to belong to anything else, and delete them. Make a copy of your registry first!

Can't get Patches

I have the UbiSoft disc, and it says EU2 version 1.04. Is there anyway I can get patches for it? It is also coming up with the title message for this forum.

This is usually caused by either trying to install the incorrect patch version.
Or the installer not recording the correct location of where you installed the game.
Solution.
Make sure you have the correct patch, Edit the registry files to make sure they have the correct path, uninstall and then reinstall to the default drive and path.
Uninstall instruction see here:

What is the correct path for the registry files?

The path where you installed the game.
