Event ID clearing house

On advice from Cat Lord, block assignments have been reduced to 100 event IDs per person. If you run out, I'm sure a new block can be assigned.

richvh, we can try to keep some order in events ID by blocks if you want, but be aware that people in other language forums may not come here to reserve them.

I don't think it's a bad idea, mind you, but it is by no mean compulsory to people.

I know, it's like, if you will pardon the expression, herding cats, but I think the attempt should be made.

As for the foreign languages modders, they'll have to police their own - or not - as they see fit, I won't try to do it for them.

My advice for events ID

As some of you are embarking on a journey of LUCKS, I'd like to suggest you the following:

- Reserved some events for doing "specific" province events, if some historical buff around wanted to add some. It's not easy to do in CK, but it's not impossible.

As provinces are numbered from 1 to 848, and you probably want to reserved 100 events each, and you have to start at 10000, I will suggest making the following blocks:

100100 -> 100199   for Province 1
100200 -> 100299   for Province 2
100300 -> 100399   for Province 3
...
184800 -> 184899   for Province 848

- 100 events is already quite a lot of events. I suggest you allocate events by slices of 100 to people.

I would start at 20000. You will find most people will code their first events using the first available block (10000+). It's usefull to let them free (10000-20000) so that you can test others' events directly without having to renumbered them (as yours, or any event, which have been accepted by the LUCKS group, will start after this 10000-20000 safety buffer).

Between 20000 and 100000, there is enough for 800 slots. That's quite a lot of people, and quite a lot of events

- I would reserved events after 200000 for specific TAG, again for historical buff. I don't remember the number of tags, but I will probably reserved 100 by county, 500 by duchy, and 1000 by kingdom. Just in case. Do a list. Then, calculate the upper limit you need for any other events.

- If you ever run out of ID, there should be enough buffer between your chunks, and then after the upper limit, to code some more...

Have fun with events scripting, anyway.

Sounds reasonable, though since you can also test for region and area, I guess we should reserve blocks of ids for them as well. Suggestion on block size for them?
