Excel Error: Pls Help

North American version : patch -----> 1.08 April 21 Beta
Operating system: Win XP
Computer: AMD Athlon Processor 1.01 Ghz 256 Ram
Hardrive Capacity: 16.1free on my HD
Video info: KDS Video Sensations on NIVDIA GeForce 5200
Sound: Creative Sound Blaster PCI
DirectX Version Installed: latest one

I also use a USB-connected MS Internet Pro Keyboard and Logitech USB Trackman mouse.
I read the important sticky thread by Mr. T before posting this....thanks dude.

Everytime I try to play the Grand Campaign I get an error pop up

" EXCEL FILE NOT FOUND " with options to restart abort or reload

and then the game cannot proceed.

I havent played EU2 for two years now and am hoping to get back into it again. My rustiness is probably a factor in not self diagnosing and solving this problem myself! :rofl:

"Excel file not found" errors usually mean that something is not installed correctly (the game can't find some .csv file). Did you install the 1.08 patch before the beta? Did you make sure the 1.08 was installed in the same folder as the game? Did you unzip the beta into the same folder and allow it to overwrite read-only files and extract into subfolders? What unzip program did you use?

Yup this error is usually the result of not installing 1.08 before the beta patches.
