Maybe I am doing something wrong but is it me or exchanging hostages almost always happens on AI's terms? I mean when I check with my neighbors it always says "They won't accept". A few days later that same clan offers me a hostage exchange.

I realize that situations change and AIs are opportunistic and they always consider their benefit but maybe the hostage exchange logic is a bit too tight. It almost never accepts and always offers on its own terms.

What could be beneficial is either an indicator that tells you one of your neighbors might accept a hostage exchange (if you offer) or some easy way to check it without going through each neighbor one by one.

What do you think?

Ive noticed this for the most part as well. I think I have maybe had 1 or 2 times where I wanted to offer it that they were willing as well. Most the time it is as you said. Im playing a game now that I have had no luck on this.

agreed, but what I think happens is that the AI quickly dispose of all their available hostages before you can propose something yourself. Not sure though.

I thought about this possibility but it says: "you will be sending so and so and they will be sending so and so" so I guess that means they have hostages available. Even for the case they don't have a hostage available the response should be a little more clear than just "They won't accept" I think.
