It looks to me like most people don't seem to realize that you are the ultimate drone controller with unlimited range.

You can send a drone to the other end of the map manually.

Did the dust devil kill the RC Rover or you don't have a rover and need to repair the explorer? You can manually control drones to repair it.

RC Transport count as storage and drones can build from it's inventory.

Drones and flyers is very limited, they can't move major storage around, so they are only good for moving items around to handle maintenance, you need to use the Transport for building stuff (see the previous tip about the transport also being like a depo)

Trying to use flyers/drones for filling rockets with fuel and rear metal, when the resource is far away, is painfully slow, but a transport on a transport route can ferry waste amount of resources, so they can be loaded into rocket or used for building, much faster than drone/flyers.

Domes Filter By Traits is a trap, it allows you to set up stupid rules, that conflict, resulting in revolving door syndrome, where colonist keep trying to follow the attraction rule, but if there is no job, the colonist will head elsewhere, where the attraction rule again take effect so they try to move back. Filters need to be in effect on all domes, if one dome attracts, others need to deny and attract too. It's works perfectly well to have one or more domes attract scientists and have the others deny scientists.

Edit: Forgot another one for transports, if you make sure the delivery point of a transport route is within charging range of a cable, the transport will automatically recharge.

I've noticed those issues/features as well. You can reassign drones from a hub that cannot reach another and the drones drive over seamlessly.

I personally prefer to have a couple RC Transports running around doing odd-jobs instead of relying on shuttles and the like, too many times has something just sat empty or supplies not reach projects for me not to.

The only trait or whatever to filter by for me is Seniors, I always dump them in a cushy retirement dome with a few middle aged folk to make sure they're fed and treated. Otherwise I think you have it right. Some players don't realize the thumbs up is we want but may not get and the thumbs down is a flat-out rejection.

Transports can unload anywhere, it doesn't have to be at a depot. I tend to just dump it's load next to the nearest power cable so it can recharge and let the drones move to whatever depot the load needs to go to.

RC Rover with the tech that makes it no longer need recharging turns it into a portable generator for recharging your transports and explorers.

1) Nothing has to be in drone range to work, everything has to be in drone range to be fixed. So it's fine to leave a spot 2 min to build something your economy will not magically fail.
2) Once the tech is searched, sensor towers don't cost power. They have a line of sight, their efficiency will be cut by mountains, put them in open terrain. And go put them in the middle of unexplored tiles with unexplored tiles all around this tile, it is the best way to scan quickly. They don't have to be put in explored terrain.
3) Drones are reassigned automatically to the closest drone hub or rover when you launch your rockets. If there is nothing around they will stay there they will not be launched with the rocket and disappear. So don't reassign them all manually except if you want to divide them.

"Expert" Tip: Put some power lines beside the depot to begin with. Indeed if you use the "transport" command (the point to point transfer one) the RC Transport will recharge automatically if you set the end point over a power cable near the depot.

You can put a power line directly in the space left by concrete factories no need to go around to connect your factories. .And you may level back the terrain left by concrete factories with any building, like dump sites for wasted rocks.

If you need to build a long pipeline, break it up using oxygen tanks, or water tanks (if not in an area with cold waves) to reduce the chance of leaks. Connect the pipes to the tanks at connection points that are not next to each other.

The two best decorations to use are the lake for 3 hex plots and the statue for 1 hex plots as these two use less concrete than all the others of their size, and they give the same comfort types and amount as the other decorations of the same size.
