As the title suggests, I would like to know what happened to the mod ?

Its links just vanished on all forums and Steam, no announcements what so ever.

?????

Mod hasn't been on steam since 1st April 2016.

If you mean other forums, and public access in general, that was disabled for various reasons. Only way to get the mod is to download it here.

I can't imagine what other forums. Even I only ever posted the download links here as far as I recall...

Maybe Paradox told other sites to bugger off or something? No clue what OP is on about, but this is the only official source to get CK2+ and any other "sources" were doing so on their own volition without permission from us or Paradox.

Paradox has always had a very strict "don't put things anywhere else" policy. That's why I never posted the mod elsewhere. Heck, I remember at one point someone tried to make issue of the mod being on GitHub.

Anyway, yeah, what Zeress said. Any "sources" outside of paradox plaza that may provide (or have provided) download links to CK2Plus are unofficial and posted without the permission of the dev team or paradox itself.

Github is fine so long as the link to download the mod is direct (doesn't link to a page).

As @schwarherz has said, download links must only be on the paradox forums or through steam workshop. You are allowed, now, to have an external public forum for your mod but it is strongly encouraged to have discussions about the mod here. The download rule also still applies.

It occurs to me, after the fact, that I could have worded my comment better. As far as I was ever aware the person who had issue with GitHub wasn't a member of paradox staff but a member of the public who reported the GitHub repository.

@schwarherz
Well, links to github pages or projects are not allowed. The only github links that are allowed are ones that start downloads without linking to an actual page. Having a github repository is also fine if it is for the team internally. I was more just talking in general about the rules, than anything.
