Deleted some older ones as they were so old they are no longer relevant.

I'm creating this thread as a central place to collect current exploits. If you know of any exploits please list them below, hopefully with a video to the exploit itself to demonstrate how it is done. These are being collected for the purpose of helping the multiplayer community be aware so that they can be countered through fixes to balance mods or for the devs to notice them and address them.

1. AI Trade exploits

This ultimately abuses the AI's inability to evaluate the situation to get it to do one side trades. Examples are to get higher pop growth through migration treaties where you have insane migration pull or continuously trading scientists to your overlord for sweet deals.

2. Hegemon membercide

Boot one of the members on day 0, then war declare them 10 years later to capture a fully developed capital planet.

3. Negative economy exploits

Supposedly fixed in 3.4.3: All resources provided for deficit bailouts now scale with the game year, instead of just those for the situation that completed.

Below is an old exploit from 3.1 Lem that was fixed. Will leave this as an example though.

4. Negative stat exploits

Similar to negative economy exploits, the objective is finding a stat that can go negative and then abusing the hell out of it some how. Two of them so far in recent releases have focused on Empire size.

5. Stacking Exploits
These general exploits focus on stacking an absurd number of easily available modifiers to yield absurd bonuses.

The simplest one is Fanatical Purifier + Fanatic Militarist + Distinguished Admiralty + Clones + etc... = greater than 100% firepower boost at game start

Enmity was a recent one that was nerfed

The most recent one is Martial Law which involves taking Distinguished Admiralty + Memory vaults to get amazing Commander governors at game start with +50% resource production bonuses.

Apparently there is an exploit in Overlord where you can generate a ton of Alloys as Scholarium. Waiting for the first video or person to fill in the details to get credit for this exploit!

Imperial Fiefdom is still exploitable. You can get the AI overlord to give you very favorable deals on everything (Note, I didn't bother to ask for the Strategics even though I could have). All you have to do is agree to go to all overlord wars, which is not a terrible deal since they are already very powerful, and do this right after the cooldown of the first agreement. You can easily cruise to 800 Research by 2230 with huge resource bonuses. Note I'm not even min-maxing in the screenshot.

Found an exploit, pretty broken.
It allows you to add any country flags to your empire, which results in you getting stuff at the start of the game.
I also added a bad drawing of a robot for no apparent reason.

Anyway, with this you can:
- Gain access to all precursor secrets, except first league, at the start of the game
- Gain the ability to construct all shroud patron sanctums, no matter what patron you choose and gain half the telepath bonus from all patrons. You can also choose to gain the full bonus, but then you can't actually get a patron.
- Gain several event edicts
- Gain several decisions, some permanent, some one-time use only, such as nu-baol life-seeding.
- Get the ability to build some event buildings, such as ministry of culture, at the start of the game.
- Gain the ability to take galactic wonders without restoring a megastructure.
- Put brainslugs on your leaders
And these are just the "safe" ones I actually found (The ones that shouldn't come with some unintended consequences later in the game).
There's also some that can prevent anyone from getting certain events, some can potentially mess up fallen empires and the war in heaven. One flag even makes ancient mining drones become friendly towards you!

You can add some civics that cannot normally be added by editing your custom empires file:

civicexploit.PNG

The only civics you can do this with seems to be divine sovereign, galactic sovereign and corporate galactic sovereign.
Also, the name was just me naming the empire with a localization string / whatever it's called. From the limbo event.

You can start with machine pops instead of biological pops when using rogue servitor. Once again, just edit your custom empire file and make them have the class "MACHINE".

While it says it's invalid, it still lets you save and start the game

@Metallichydra An exploit is taking advantage of bugs or unintended interactions present in normal gameplay. Editing the game files is just cheating, which isn't really the same thing. Console commands and using mods don't really count as exploits either for the same reason.
The stated purpose of the thread is to make the multiplayer community aware of exploits.
While it may not be an "exploit", it certainly is something that multiplayer communities should be aware of due to how easy it is to do.

There is a new exploit floating around in 3.8 where you can get 0% Empire size through leaders and then ascend the crap out of your planets for free. Waiting for someone to post exactly the steps on how to min-max reproduce this before calling out a winner.

Martial Law exploit where you can start the game with super military governors and generate +50% resource production at start of game. Just take Distinguished Admiral and Memory Vault.
