Explorers and Colonization

I thought I saw written somewhere that Explorers increase the chance of a colonization attempt; however I don't see a change in the percentage when I have an explorer next to the province.

maybe they meant conquistadors? if a conquistador is in the province and THEN you send a colonist?

I think they said that chances are icnreased if a conquistador is in a province. Explorers shouldn't matter.

Yes, conquistador gives +3% per manouver point. Explorer gives nothing

Explorers increase the chance of colonisation if they are located in a harbor. So you need at least a level 1 colony to get the increase.
