Not sure if anyone has done this yet but after much trial and error, I managed to extend the map (to the south of egypt).

Originally I had the Nile extending down but it was causing crashes so I removed it. The yellow terrain had to be crudely drawn in on the colormap_hires.bmp file. It would take a good artist to do a nice job on this to make it look good.

Wow, that looks really impressive, great job. Looking forward to future releases of RIMP. I can see room down there for a full Kingdom of Kush/Meroe.

Thanks for the tip on the rivers - yes, I had it so it was only 1 pixel away from the border.

May I ask how far south and east RIMP is going to extend ?

The region map can be larger than 2048. I have it at 2800x1500 atm.
Any larger than that leads to random crashes while generating the textures related to the texture map, which has to be extended as well.

Could that possibly have to do with your graphics cards memory? How much does it have?

Also maybe it would be possible to generate only that much of map as texture wise, and then generate the rest and add them together?

512 MB. It seems to be the engine. I have tried a 1024 MB card with the same results.

Putting two maps/mods together would be a lot of work and 2800 is more than enough for RIMP atm.
Well not really, I mean wouldn't it just be cutting a few (maybe 5-20) images in half and then getting the map texture from somewhere and combining them at the end, along with the full map. Couldn't take more then an hour.
