For my site The Hearts of Iron directory-http://www.hoidirectory.tk, I am trying to put together a set of links for information that would be useful for AAR writers... mainly in terms of background.

And just like in the EU2 AAR forum, a list of resources eventually surfaces, of both sites and books which are helpful.

So far I have a short list of sites, and it will get bigger every day. Hopefully, this will turn into a good reference for those who want it(I meant the list here on this forum, not just my site)

So, any books or sites you'd like to recommend for the rest of us?

M

A few books I would recommend:

General History:

I.C.B. Dear, ed., The Oxford Companion to World War II

Gerhard Weinberg, A World at Arms

John Keegan, ed., The Times Atlas of the Second World War

Naval History:

Correlli Barnett, Engage the Enemy More Closely: The Royal Navy in the Second World War

John Prados, Combined Fleet Decoded - excellent on naval intelligene & code-breaking in the Pacific

RAF:

Richard Hough and Denis Richards, The Battle of Britain

John Terraine, The Right of the Line

Germany:

Gerhard Weinberg, The Foreign Policy of Hitler's Germany, 2 Vols.

Len Deighton, Blitzkreig: From the Rise of Hitler to the Fall of Dunkirk

Thanks for the initative, Bismarck. After a while I'll compile these and add them to the 'Welcome' thread so the info becomes stickied and an active resource.
