Anyway I assume you have used the F-lock key in the correct position when trying to access the function keys right?

Speaking of keys, can someone tell my how to switch from HOI screen to Windows screen without quitting? I'm using an Acer Travelmate 212 TXV (italian keyboard).

I assume you have a start key?
Alt-Tab also works.
I don't know the particulars of Italian keyboards, but I assume they have these keys.

Alt tab should work, not always a great idea to do that when playing games though. Going back and forth can cause problems, I have not heard of any specific ones with Paradox games, but other aplications do have problems.

Let's run an experiment:
Try opening wordpad, then start HOI, then press and hold alt key, then hit tab key.
A pop up window should apear that allows you to chosse which app to switch to. by hitting the tab key you can cylce through them. select wordpad. does this work?

You may also want to try Ctrl-esc for the start menu.
