Face the Dragon

I bring my character to face the dragon and fire the intrigue event but the dragon always evades me.
Whats going on here?
How does this event work?

Perhaps the event/Intrigue trigger is broken?
Or
Is there some cooldown timer from tries maybe ?

Is the dragon either shy or born in Asshai? If so it is not possible to proactively hunt them down, rather you have to wait for a random encounter.

Not sure exactly why from experience, but in my game I could find Balerion and a new hatched dragon but not Meraxes. I'll check their traits later to see if what you say is true

Actualy yes one was in Asshai, i dont remember if the other was shy though.
Also i noticed some didnt even let me trigger the even. Ill double check about the shy trait though.

Yes one was shy, and the other in Asshai. What does Asshai have to do with restricting taming?
Also there were a couple dragons in the lordship of manatry, the event isn't enabled for me to use. Is there a prerequisite im overlooking?

That makes, what is the deal with the Dragons of Asshai? How come they have so many of them?
