Failed to create graphics device. Existing.

I installed Europa Universalis yesterday. The videos play fine at the start but when they end it goes back to my destop and comes up with the error message "Failed to create graphics device. Existing." I have have all the minimum specifications so I can't understand why it won't work. I've installed the patches and they don't work. It may be my intel graphic card.

Are you really talking about EU2, or is it actually EU3? If the latter we'll need to move you to the correct forum.
