Has it been more than 6 months since I won??? Wow. Now the pressure is on to find another fan. Thank you to @son of liberty @StrategyGameEnthusiast for their shout outs @Cora Giantkiller, I’m so glad you enjoy my comments. I enjoy your writing.
@Chac1, thank you for the nomination. You might be able to lure me to the CK2 forum. I loved that game and am amazed people are still posting actively there. My favorite AARs from the CK2 forums were a song of Wessex written by @coz1, before Plantagenet written by @JabberJock14, and a very strange one where the author had a great sense of humor and an obsession with tej. Do you have any favorite narrative AARs from CK2?
Congratulations again @Sirdramaticus .

The CK2 sub-forum is still quite active. It may not be as busy as CK3 or EUIV, but a liveliness remains.

As this is a very popular thread, in answering your question, I would point folks to the 2025 Q1 AARland Choice Awards (the ACAs). Many folks have posted ballots there with deserving AARs from all over AARland. My personal choices for CK2 are on my ballot. You too are invited (along with anyone else who reads AARs) to vote for your favorites in a variety of categories.

My narrative favorites include:

The Sons of Ragnar Lodbrok by @Lord Durham , a revival and conclusion (perhaps?) of a long dormant AAR;

Blackadder by @dmurgell , a new comedic AAR with not that many chapters yet, so easy to settle into this funny one;

Wings of Faith, Wings of Fury by @Superstorm , a long-running well-written history book-style AAR; and

although not really a narrative, Blood and Empire by @Bullfilter is a classic gameplay AAR and one of the best of that type.

Unfortunately, my ballot was too short to mention all of these. You will notice there are more than a handful of other interesting history book and gameplay AARs in the CK2 sub-forum too.

Also, I hope you will allow me to mention my own narrative Lost Seasons of the Danes. If that narrative is too long, you might be interested in the shorter AARs which are on hiatus that are mentioned in my signature.

Happy reading if you decide to sample the CK2 sub-forum (along with all the rest).

Congratulations @Sirdramaticus! I'm behind at everything right now, and so late with congratulations also.

I appreciate your telling us some of the stories you follow. @coz1's Wessex story is very good, though I've never finished it.

Just please have in mind which eligible fan you might honor in a few days' time! I'm busy trying to catch up on all the stories I'm behind on, and even late for my own writing, so I might forget to remind later.

@Sirdramaticus , you (and others too) can find a list of past winners here. The rule is that you shouldn't offer up a nomination to anyone who has won in the past six months, so you'll need to scan the list and figure that out.

The good news is that there are a lot of good and supportive folks in AARland and everyone besides those two dozen or so on that list are eligible.

@Sirdramaticus also please note that the first post index is in 3 parts (which I fear most may not realize):

1. Current/Recent winners, with an overlong list that I need to figure out a way to shorten.

2. Alphabetical index of winners and dates since 2004.

3. A list of those who've received it a dozen times or more.

It does require a lot of scrolling, sorry. I am reminded of this weekly, when I rejigger the stats. :)

Thanks for all the praise, everyone! I can’t go into the weekend with the weight of an important decision like the Fan of the Week on my poor conscience. So, without further ado, I hereby nominate @Rensslaer for the award. Not just anyone can give practical advice to someone on how to publish their work, but he gave a very lengthy post full of real world insights to @Revan86 . People who take time to help others at no profit to themselves deserve praise… especially since he does a lot of that around this forum!

Renss...you are far more than just "helpful". Truly a pure joy to have around these parts. Not only do I value your efforts at fandom, I value our friendship. 20 years in and hopefully 20 more. Congrats, my friend! :)
