Congratulations @Flockingbird! Sorry I'm late. Dividing my time too thinly these days. I'm following some of the AARs you are, and I enjoy your comments. I've even poked my head into @blue emu's AAR a couple times.

It's been my policy, as Original Poster and more-or-less host of this thread, to allow each recipient a whole week to enjoy their award.

So you were nominated on Monday and you can pass it along on Monday.

Oh and @Flockingbird I always increase my font size for posts to 18 point when I update my AARs because I have had the same trouble as you reading the smaller font sizes. And that was true even when I was 30 and first came to the forum!

Thanks! :)

P.S. Our daughter and son-in-law are RPI graduates. Please ignore my question if you don’t wish to answer, but are you a fellow alum?

(I took Greek, not Latin, and haven’t the faintest idea of the correct grammatical form to use, so I went with the informal version. ;) )

@Flockingbird no I'm not an RPI grad. There was a Rensselaer street near where I grew up and I thought it was a cool name. So I used it for a starship Captain in one of my adolescent stories, then used it as a character name in a MMORG, then started using it as a forum name, then when I wrote my first AAR I included a Rensselaer as a throwaway character who accidentally became one of the central characters. :)

And THEN I wrote an Alexander Hamilton story and Stephen Van Rensslaer became a key historical character. :D

Just realised you could have served on the Iowa class!
I didn't, but I did see the New Jersey fire all 9 main guns at once one time. It ruined fireworks for me though. After seeing that, fireworks have no point imo.

I'm both envious and realise that it indeed would ruin fireworks and hence glad I've not seen it.

Must have been a sign to behold, thkgih.

Werr they fired in anger or just practice?

I believe it’s time to pass the awAARd to a new winner. Rensslaer named Monday, so I figured I’d do it late tonight my time, which will be Monday over in Europe, but upon checking I find that in fact I am a day late!
Time to pass on the awAARd.

I have decided to nominate a first time winner (if they aren't a first time winner then the first post lied to me).

Congratulations @Flockingbird
June 28 was a Saturday! This is Sunday. I am late, and I’m not even a little white rabbit.

I have decided to nominate another first time winner, whose enthusiasm, questions and suggestions have been brightening Blue Emu’s Sirius Business AAR: @RobbieAB !

Congratulations, RobbieAB!

My apologies @Flockingbird - I must have miscounted somehow.

Congratulations @RobbieAB!

Please tell us a little about the AARs you're following. I'm lieu of that, if you're only following the one, tell us some of what you find fascinating about that AAR.

And then after a week please choose a successor who is actively commenting on AARs and hasn't been chosen within the past 6 months. Ideally it would be outside of the same AAR (once is fine - twice in a row would start a bad precedent). If you really aren't sure we could open it to nominations after the week.

Making a show during a NATO cruise.

Congratulations @RobbieAB

I edited the post about the New Jersey with a picture of the guns firing
